War of the Worlds and M:I3 stuntman Vic Armstrong is in Budapest to direct groundbreaking action sequences in epic new feature

BUDAPEST, TUESDAY 28 March 2006: Internationally renowned stuntman and second unit director, VIC ARMSTRONG, is in Hungary to start work on CHILDREN OF GLORY (SZABADSÁG, SZERELEM). Armstrong one of the world’s most prolific movie stuntman, has helmed the second units on countless high-budget films, will direct the action sequences on CHILDREN OF GLORY (SZABADSÁG, SZERELEM). This will include the mass sequences on Kossuth square, scheduled for shooting on the first week of May. As with his previous work in the latest Bond-movies, WAR OF THE WORLDS, M:I3, TERMINATOR 2: JUDGMENT DAY and CHARLIE’S ANGELS, he will choreograph the explosions, street fights and all the technical details for the many action sequences in this epic feature.

This collaboration with producer ANDY VAJNA continues a long standing relationship between the two.  ARMSTRONG, who was Harrison Ford’s stunt double in all the Indiana Jones movies and most recently worked alongside the legendary STEVEN SPIELBERG to create the destruction of the Earth by aliens in WAR OF THE WORLDS, will now work with Hungarian director KRISZTA GODA, using his expertise to reproduce the battles of 1956 that shook the streets of Pest.

ARMSTRONG was quick to make his mark on his first day on set, by sending two T-34 tanks (which had been maneuvered onto set the previous day) and Molotov cocktails into a building in 8th district Józsefváros (Joseph Town).

He is coordinating five cameras – one of them a hand-held steadicam.  Such advanced techniques and complex shooting sequences are still groundbreaking in Hungarian film and will result in action sequences so effective the audience will feel part of the violence of the Hungarian Revolution of 1956.

The film will open on the 23rd October 2006 to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the Revolution.
